(Class of 2022) Ann is the BEST counselor anyone could ever have. I worked with Ann throughout my high school years and she was always there, challenging me to do more at my peaks and cheering me on in my slumps. She is direct and realistic but always encouraging and will always support you no matter what you pick. I could not have asked for a better counselor. I know that I would not have come this far without Ann. During the application process, Ann brainstormed many topics with me: bouncing ideas off of me and helping me to refine essays to a higher level. She was patient with me and knew the right questions to ask, fostering an environment where I could further explore my story. I am extremely proud of my Common App essay and could not have imagined having a better one. Cornell is my dream school! Because of the slump I hit during the pandemic, I thought I didn’t have a chance. But Ann was still encouraging me. Unlike some of the horror stories I heard from my friends about their college counselor experiences, Ann always makes me feel positive and ready to do more. She and her team kept me on track with college applications and I completed them well ahead of schedule while my friends were still hunkering down, trudging into the last days before the deadline. One of Ann’s main points is that preparing for college is not just about the application, but also about living life in an interesting and meaningful way throughout high school. Her guidance truly helped me realize this and I know that I’ll take the skills I’ve learned so far to help me in college and beyond. Thank you Ann! You are AMAZING!
